I had hoped this would be the case but now I’m silently nervous. During my first Comic Con….at my second press room ever…I’ll be faced with the full cast of Supernatural. This can only end with me staring mutely. It’s happened before. Ask Jennifer Garner about our interaction during last year’s Toronto International Film Festival (clue: I stared mutely – and she was wearing the most amazing shoes….)

While the official schedule for the Supernatural panel at Comic Con this year listed the attendees as executive producers Sera Gamble and Ben Edlund, as well as creator/executive producer Eric Kripke, no cast members were mentioned by name. Fandom (and Twitter) were abuzz with the news that Misha Collins (Castiel) and Jim Beaver (Bobby) would be making appearances (which Beaver himself has confirmed on his Twitter account).

Now it’s been confirmed by BuddyTV that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles would also return for this year’s panel, which is taking place on Sunday, July 25 at 11:15 a.m. PST. Apparently we’ll be seeing some footage from season 6, along with seeing a preview from season 5′s DVD and Blu-ray special features.

So all of you who will be attending Comic Con this year are in for a treat – executive producers, the creator himself, and the full main cast members. It’s going to be one hell of a panel. I’ll be the girl in the back staring mutely.

So….if any of our readers out there would like to provide me with questions to ask in the press room, so that I look like a somewhat-intelligent person, email me at clarissa@tvovermind.com, comment below or tweet me @clarissa373.

While I’m at it, let me pimp the Twitter accounts for Collins and Beaver. Beaver speaks (and tweets) about two million impressive languages and you can find him at twitter.com/jumblejim. He also writes plays and best-selling books, appears in other shows and does so much stuff while raising a young daughter that I actually wonder where he finds the time. Collins, meanwhile, is secretly plotting to take over the world with his army of minions. It’s a cause I can support. You can follow it at twitter.com/mishacollins

The Winchester brothers will rev up their 1967 Chevy Impala once again in Supernatural: The Complete Fifth Season, debuting on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def from Warner Home Video on September 7, 2010. This latest installment of the three-time Emmy(R)-nominated series and winner of the 2010 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show will hit shelves just in time for fans to catch up with Sam (Jared Padelecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) before the paranormal journey continues with the season six premiere on The CW. The six-disc DVD and four-disc Blu-ray releases contain all 22 original season five episodes, plus nearly three hours of bonus features including featurettes, deleted scenes, a gag reel and much more. Supernatural: The Complete Fifth Season is priced at $59.98 SRP on DVD and $69.97 SRP on Blu-ray.

Two brothers and one fallen angel – against all the might of Satan and his army! As the Apocalypse grows closer, threatening to turn Earth into a battlefield soaked with human blood, Sam, Dean and Castiel struggle against daunting odds. New foes arise, including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Old friends depart, consumed by the fearsome wrath of Hell. Through it all, the Winchesters are targeted by demons and angels alike, who warn that each brother has a special and terrible role to play in the coming devastation. Season five follows Sam and Dean on their most terrifying journey yet, one that may lead them to the only ally strong enough to defeat the Devil: God.

Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki (Friday the 13th [2009]), Jensen Ackles (My Bloody Valentine 3D) and Misha Collins (24), with recurring guest star Jim Beaver (Deadwood). The series was created by Eric Kripke, who executive produces along with McG, Robert Singer, Phil Sgriccia, Ben Edlund and Sera Gamble. The series is from Wonderland Sound and Vision in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Fans of “Supernatural,” the TV show about Sam and Dean Winchester’s battle against the forces of hell, may soon be in heaven — for three days anyway — because a tribute to the The CW networks’s demon-hunting series is coming to Parsippany this weekend.

Creation Entertainment’s The Salute to Supernatural Convention will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel.

“It’s an experience where people who have a common interest can get together,” said Creation Entertainment Publicist Monica Gillen.

The convention will feature both souvenirs and celebrities, said Gary Berman, co-founder of Creation Entertainment.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase show memorabilia from T-shirts and hats, to mugs and photos, said Berman. The main event includes cast members making appearances and leading question and answer sessions. There will also be opportunities for autographs, as well as photos.

Richard Speight Jr. and Alona Tal will appear on Friday. Travis Wester and Aldis Hodge will take the stage on Saturday. Rob Benedict, Samantha Smith, and Katherine Boecher will be featured at Saturday’s presentation, and Misha Collins will appear both Saturday and Sunday.

Supernatural fans have deemed this summer of reruns a “hell-atus.” The fifth season finale “Swan Song” saw the Winchester boys pulled apart as Lucifer, utilizing Sam (Jared Padalecki)’s meat suit fell into the pit and Dean (Jensen Ackles) honored his promise to his baby brother and looked up Lisa to attempt to have a normal life. The very last shot of the episode was of Dean at the dinner table with his new, “normal” family while Sam stood outside staring through the window. How much time had passed since they were torn apart? And was the Sam standing there really even our Sam? Cut to black; we have to wait until September to find out.

However the cast and crew only had to wait until now! Work on the sixth season of Supernatural, which is once again filming up in Vancouver Canada, is beginning at the end of June, unprecedentedly early for a fall series to resume!

Season six will see quite a few changes to the show. First and foremost Eric Kripke has stepped down as showrunner, though loyal fans are confident writer/producer Sera Gamble will be able to carry on his vision well. After all, she has been with the show since the beginning.

Also, though the network has confirmed that fan favorites Jim Beaver (Bobby) and Misha Collins (Castiel) will be back, they have not said for how many episodes, which could mean some tearjerkers in the early part of the season! One CW publicist has been calculatedly cryptic by saying that the CW and Collins have some big news coming down the pike, which is leaving Twitter and fan forums abuzz with the possibility of some sort of spin-off. Maybe on the web ala Ghostfacers?
